Disney Stars 'n' Cars: fleet reduced!
Posted by Kristof on Thursday, October 16 2008
Word has reached us from our insider friends over at the Entertainment department that a few vehicles have been removed from the original concept we posted a few weeks ago.
The new (and final) line up is:
- Aladdin
- Disney Villains
- Donald and Daisy
- Lilo and Stitch
- Mary Poppins
- Mickey, Minnie & Goofy
- Monsters Inc.
- Mulan
- Snow White
- The Little Mermaid
- Toy Story
You'll notice that Star Wars is absent from the list, as well as the new vehicles Pirates of the Caribbean (The Muppets), Finding Nemo (Playhouse Disney) and Cruella Devil, which will not overtake the Disney Villains car. Jack Sparrow has been exchanged for Donald and Daisy Duck who'll open the parade in their vehicle. The Playhouse Disney and Star Wars vehicles will not be used in the event at all.

Disney Stars and Motor Cars' new name
Posted by raptor1982 on Wednesday, July 9 2008
The Entertainment Department at Disneyland Resort Paris has decided to rename the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade. Currently the work name is "Disney's Stars 'n' Cars Event". Yes, that's EVENT, not parade. Early reports indicate that the original parade will be split up into three groups of cars that will come out in the park at the same time and entertain guests at the stops on Backlot, Production Courtyard and Toon Studio.

Stars and Motor Cars for 2008?

One of the more uncertain rumours circulating for the resort's grand 15th Anniversary Celebration is that the Disney Cinema Parade, Walt Disney Studios Park's main daytime parade since June 2002, could be replaced as a final gift to the two parks at the end of the year-long celebration. The celebrations are likely to begin around 12th April 2007, the official 15th anniversary of the resort, and will continue for one whole year with many exciting new additions including Toon Studios, Tower of Terror and a brand new Disneyland Park parade. The rumours suggest that Disney-MGM Studios Florida's Stars and Motor Cars Parade could be crossing the Atlantic to Paris in a permanent parade reshuffle. This information has been given further credability recently by strong rumours "across the pond" that the Pixar-themed Block Party Bash parade, which debuted at Disney's California Adventure in May 2005, could be moved to Disney-MGM Studios Florida in late 2007.
Disney's Stars and Motor Cars Parade is the full-scale character pageant that inspired Paris' smaller Good Morning Walt Disney Studios. It features over 15 vehicles, mostly convertibles, each highly customised to mirror the character riding on board. It was originally introduced for Walt Disney World's 100 Years of Magic (to celebrate 100 years since Walt Disney's birth) in 2001. You can see a large collection of photos from the parade on the Photos Magiques Gallery.
Further updates and discussion for this interesting rumour can be found in the dedicated topic on the Photos Magiques & WDS Fans forum.
