Parachute Drop barely visible from around the resort
Posted by Kristof on Monday, February 8 2010

We pointed our camera to Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop to investigate its visual intrusion around Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios Park.

We're happy to report it's barely visible around both parks.

Row 2: Tower of Terror entrance and Fantasia Gardans
Row 3: Frontierland and Big Thunder Mountain lift hill

"Guimik" posted on Disney Central Plaza a photo of the first piece of the Parachute Drop tower being installed.

The tower is already sporting its military camouflage pattern.

Hong Kong Disneyland shows more of Toy Story Playland model
Posted by Kristof on Monday, January 25 2010

Hong Kong Disneyland released a video last week showing more of their future projects, including their version of Toy Story Playland. But the model shown in the video is in fact the Walt Disney Studios Park version!

See the video here and a collection of screenshots taken from it are below.

Do note that some of the concept art and items shown on the model are dated. The concept art of RC Racer with Andy's house on the background was a very early draft.

World of Color rumours hit the net
Posted by Kristof on Thursday, January 14 2010

Disney and More blogger Alain Littaye gave a recap today of rumours that have been circulating the net the past few months and weeks of Disneyland Paris' next attractions for the coming years.

Among the ever returning possibilities (Ratatouille, The Little Mermaid, Stars Tours 2, etc.) one rumour stood out which hasn't been really talked about: the water spectacular "World of Color".

Walt Disney Studios Park is the only Disney theme park in the world without a large body of water. Which is why a large lake is included in the park's master plan. Earlier plans showed the lake located at the end of a prolonged Hollywood Blvd. which will go all the way up past the forest. The lake would serve as a waterfront backlot surrounded by sets and prop ships.

It seems natural that such a large spectacular would be the best location for the park's lacking night time entertainment.

Studio Tram Tour closing for 3 months!
Posted by Kristof on Monday, January 11 2010

Studio Tram Tour will be closing on 01 March and reopen 30 May 2010. It's not clear at this time if this is just for the Toy Story Playland construction or if there will be some new surprises along the tram route...

Toy Story Playland construction from the sky!
Posted by Kristof on Sunday, November 22 2009

A WDSfans.com friend has send us in 2 photos showing an overhead view of the Toy Story Playland construction site.

The building with the rounded roof on the first picture is in fact the queue building for the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop attraction. The foundations for the Slinky Dog Zig-Zag Spin can be seen on the left on the same photo.

The foundations for RC Racer can be seen on the left on the second photo.
