Giant vs. Dwarf? Walt Disney Studios compared to Disneyland Park

What would happen if we could lift up Walt Disney Studios Park and place it over the neighbouring Disneyland Park? Let's have a look at how much bigger the Magic Kingdom really is.

Let's first start with comparing 2 satellite images from both parks. Most of the backstage areas that are not accessible for park guests have been cut out.

The park suddenly doesn't look that small anymore, right? However, we should point out that the Studio Tram Tour Behind the Magic takes up a chunk on the back of the park.

Placing Walt Disney Studios Park over Disneyland Park, reveals how the park would take over Main Street, U.S.A., a large chunk of Discoveryland and pieces of Adventureland & Frontierland.

So imagine we would walk in this cross-over. Which WDS attractions would be located where? Let's start!

The Studios' entrance gate is located on Main Street Station. Front Lot, or Place des Frères Lumière, goes on the exact same place as Town Square and is about the same size.

Disney Studio 1 starts from Emporium and Town Square Photography. The Partners Statue with Walt and Mickey, goes half way the second part of Main Street.

The Hollywood Hills, or the Studio Tram Tour Station, is located on top of Central Plaza. Sleeping Beauty Castle would be located behind the Station, what is considered as expansion area for the Studios Park.

Cinémagique and Animagique both take over the backstage area behind both sides of Main Street, U.S.A.

The Hollywood Buildings and La Terrasse are located over Casey's Corner and its outdoor seating area. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror goes over Fort Comstock (Frontierland's entrance) and the two large planters in front of it.

The Television Tour building and Place des Stars are located on the Silver Spur Steakhouse and partially the Rivers of the Far West. Rendez-Vous des Stars is actually located in the Rivers of the Far West with its entrance barely touching the Rustler Roundup Shootin' Gallery.

Armageddon - Les Effets Speciaux fits exactly over the Bonanza Outfitters boutique.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster avec Aerosmith is located on nothing less than the entrance and queue line for Big Thunder Mountain, while Backlot Express is floating on the Rivers of the Far West.

The enormous Moteurs... Action! Stunt Show Spectacular show arena stretches from Fuente del Oro to Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost, over Adventure Isle nearly touching Pirates of the Caribbean, to the Adventureland Bazar.

The Reign of Fire set, part of the Studio Tram Tour is situated on the Fantasyland darkride showbuildings.

Moving over to the Toon Studio side where the Art of Disney Animation goes over the Plaza Gardens outdoor seating area and its surrounding planters.

Flying Carpets over Agrabah fits in a small corner of the Autopia track.

Cars Quatre Roues Rallye is located over the actual Plaza Gardens restaurant and Crush's Coaster fits nicely over the Autopia track.

The Toon Town backdrop should be right behind the Discoveryland dedication plate.

Props Boneyard and the Dinotopia Temple from the Studios Tram Tour are located over Videopolis and the Star Tours entrance.

Catastrophe Canyon is situated way behind Disneyland Park's berm, behind Star Tours.

So how do you feel now about Walt Disney Studios Park's size? Do you think it seems smaller from inside the park? Or bigger? Discuss it here!
