Disney Blockbuster Café is the new name for Backlot Express Restaurant. Although the restaurant is still serving salads, sandwiches and deserts; the whole interior has changed. Instead of representing a props warehouse, it now features two themed rooms: Pirates of the Caribbean and High School Musical.
The High School Musical room is the main room where the cash registers are located. Large banners inspired by the ones seen in the High School Musical trilogy are suspended from the ceiling. The old paint cabinets from Backlot Express Restaurant are now themed to high school lockers. On the elevated part of this room, there are a few cabinets filled with props and costumes but none of these were actually used in the trilogy.
The Pirates of the Caribbean room is located on the left hand side of the restaurant and features more theming than the High School Musical room. Two large murals are located on either side of the room and resemble a ship graveyard. Two display cases feature props and costumes, but again, none of these were used in the actual movie productions. The elevated part of the room has a large ship mast and steering wheel.
It can get crowded and noisy in here on busy days, but most of the time the restaurant will be near empty.
