News update 17-19 May 2008

Crowded weekend!

The weekend of 17 and 18 May prooved to be a crowded weekend for Walt Disney Studios Park with long queues at the ticket booths, park entrance and most attractions. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster even hit a 70 minute mark.

Refurbishments

Some minor refurbishments were going on at both parks. Scaffolding was placed on the upper part of Main Street Motors.
The pre-show at Art of Disney Animation is fenced off since Monday for the replacement of the carpet. Guests have to enter through a side door directly to the first theatre.
In Adventureland has the Rocher Qui Bascule (the rock that topples over on Adventure Isle) has been fixed to the ground with a concrete block!

Disney Village

We pointed our camera to the improved Disney Village areas.

Walt Disney Studios Park update

We spotted a few minor updates at Walt Disney Studios Park which included the replacement of the Cruella De Vil car at the Studio Tram Tour Station by a taxi from Pearl Harbour, installation of a "The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian" poster on Disney Studio 1, Wall-E posters on Backlot Express and the return of the motion-triggered wind vent at the Armageddon - Les Effets Speciaux exit.
At The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror were the roses in the Rose Garden (near the exit) blooming and the Information board has been updated with 2 more miniature screens for Stitch Live! and Art of Disney Animation.

Bringing in the crowds at Cinémagique

All kind of attempts are being tried to bring in more guests into the Cinémagique theatre. Performers in Stitch Live! and Shooting Live point out to guests the next performance in Studio 2, fences at the exit of Stitch Live! lead guests to the entrance and guest flow Cast Members are walking around in the park with Cinémagique signs.

Toon Finder

Several "rare" face characters were roaming Disneyland Park these three days. Pocahontas and Meeko were wondering around in Frontierland, Esmeralda and Clopin in Fantasyland and the Mad Hatter, Dum & Dee, Alice and the Queen of Hearts near (and inside) Alice's Curious Labyrinth.

And to conclude...

It's still there...
