News update 05-08 April 2008

New attractions press event

The Celebrations Continues... big time!, Stich Live! and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror where kicked off on Saturday 5 April with an enourmous press event. Check out the photos here.

Disney Village

All construction fences at Disney Village came down for that press event. New planters, an improved outdoor seating area in front of the Sports Bar and an enclosed terrace area at Café Mickey where revealed.
A new Coca-Cola food stand also opened next to Annette's Diner. It's able to serve both Disney Village visitors and guests leaving to the parking lot.

Castle Bridge refurb

Construction fences came down as well at Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant's bridge. It had been in rehab for a few weeks, but finished up in time for the press event.

Smoking zones

Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park are non-smoking as off early April. Several smoking zones are scathered all over the parks to allow smoking guests to do their thing. However, we noticed that hardly any of these zones were being used and that smoking guests were not directed to the correct locations.

Cinémagique façade changes

Changes have been made to the façade of Cinémagique in an effort to attract more visitors to the attraction. Broadway-style letters were added to the sides of the queue canopy, backlit posters in the waiting area and large letters spelling out Cinémagique have replaced to previous attraction sign.

New merchandising

Studio Passeport Annuel

The old Studio Passeport Annuel office (yes, in the early days you could buy there a WDS-only passeport annuel...) re-opened its doors as an additional Anual Passport office for both parks.

Hollywood & Lime

Another Studio Catering Co. trailer has been transformed into a new food location on the La Terrasse area. This time it does not have the traditional fast food offerings, but rather alcohol-free cocktails with Perrier and fresh smoothies.
