Disneyland Park

At Disneyland Park the enchanting magical world of Disney comes to life.  Old time classics and new adventures await.

The park opened on 12 April 1992 and was at that time the biggest Magic Kingdom-style park ever build.

Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant sits in the heart of the park and is surrounded by lands, done in a similar way as the original Disneyland in California. However, a few changes were made to adapt the park to the European audience. Tomorrowland was exchanged for Discoveryland with its retrofuturistic theme based on Jules Verne and Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions, rather than the modern futuristic theme that can be found in the Tomorrowlands around theworld. The park also boosts several covered walkways due the inclement weather that hits the Marne-la-Vallée region throughout the year.

Currently there are 49 attractions in the park, some of which are unique to the Parisian resort like Alice’s Curious Labyrinth, Adventure Isle and La Tanière du Dragon. Other attractions are updated or improved versions like Big Thunder Mountain which is build on an actual island and Space Mountain: Mission 2 with its own on-board soundtrack and inversions.

Main Street, U.S.A. is inspired by Walt Disney’s hometown of Marceline, Missouri and is a returning theme in every other Magic Kingdom-style park, except for Shanghai Disneyland. There are 2 covered arcades on both sides of Main Street, U.S.A., designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris.

Fantasyland

Fantasyland is the place to meet and experience the magic of the classic Disney fairy tales.

The Disneyland Paris version of Fantasyland was in 1992 the largest version of the land ever build. It was an all new interpretation with water ways, bridges and landscaping along side themed attraction façades and buildings. Fantasyland is also home of a few attractions unique to Disneyland Paris like Alice’s Curious Labyrinth and La Tanière du Dragon.

The attractions, restaurants and shops are grouped by country or region. Behind Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant all French-inspired stories can be found like Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. In the back of Fantasyland, a British area can be found with all the Alice in Wonderland attractions, Peter Pan’s Flight and Toad Hall Restaurant.
