Well me and some of the others from work had to try the site chatroulette.com today - being the adventurours computer guys we are and what a funny, suprising, freaky and most of all disturbing experience. The people you can find on there   :|

However this guy is extremely cool:

Well, I have applied for the photo journalism education in Aarhus here in Denmark and yesterday I got the assignment for the first of possibly two entrance examinations. Last year 200 applied in first place and in the end only 8 will get in in september and 8 in february, so the odds aren't the best, but as I said to myself: "You are not going to get in if you do not start applying." So if I do not make it this year I will try again next year.

The first assignment is to take a photo series of 4 photos with the theme "old age" (meaning old people on this occasion) and a random portrait. The photos must be with the school on wednesday the 31st of march, so time is short. I already have some ideas for the photo series and I am very excited.

One of the ideas is 4 shots of 4 different type of eyes in B/W - see an example here - what is your opinion on this idea?

Image

And how about this portrait - is it any good? (The portrait doesn't have to be new in contradicition to the photo series which has to have been shot for the occasion)

Image

Oooh and today I bought a 70-300 mm lens for my camera too :)

Congratulations!!! =D> \:D/
1000 is a huge milestone!

Today I got up quite early, did some of my essay regarding Jean Baudrillard's theory of Simulacrum and Simulation. Good times! Then I popped into town got my ear pierced - the tragus; which didn't actually hurt to be pierced but the freeze spray really hurt which is a little confusing  . Now I'm back home, just had to cancel tonights driving lesson as I'm going to be seeing my Uncle. I'm about to help my mum with some house work then do a 9 mile run, in hopefully, less than it took me last time.

Ooo I also bought myself some new nail varnish as I've gained a new love for it. And I got my soon to be born nephew his very first Disney Tradition!

Went down to CEX today with my now redundant DVD copies of Toy Story 1+2. They gave me ... £10 for TS1 as £8 for TS2 (and £3 for Ratatouile) !!! Holy Cow, I got 30p each for the Bourne films. So it got me thinking.

I asked how much I would get for the Lion King. He said about £24 !!!!!!!!! So the plan is now: find out when the 'Classics' are coming out on Blu Ray. Sell the DVD to CEX 6 months before and use the proceeds to update the collection.

Off to work now cause I'm pretty sure we're selling Toy Story as part of a 2 for £10 offer i.e. buy, sell them for twice as much !!!!

It's soooo confusing isn't it!
I had to write 2500 words. Did you have to write it soley about Baudrillard? Or could you look into other things? I ended up writing a bit about Baudrillard, then I looked at René Descartes, Aristotle, Plato and then Disneyland and Disney's Celebration and The Matrix, The Truman Show and The Hills lol! I tried to drain everything I could think of for the word count. 8)

Even now I'm not sure I wrote the correct things.

well mine was mainly about his ideas about hyperreality in postmodern society so just him really but i did bring in some views from some other postmodernist type people and had to talk about the bit about Disneyland in relation to that. I'm always amazed how often i come across it in my work lol. Hope you managed in the end!
