HI everyone i went to the audition on Thursday and just thought id briefly tell you what happened. not sure what im allowed to say but im sure the mods will delete if theres anything not permitted !
there was about 300 people, mainly girls, we were all given a number and had to fill in a small card with our DOB, work availiability and yes or no whether you are allergic to make-up, have back problems or are claustrophobic. then we all went into a hall type with a big dance floor and learnt a short dance, 4 bars of 8, quite simple. we learnt it in 100's then practiced in either 100 or 50 on the floor, to some parade music or something from a park? im not really sure, it sounded like it had quite a spanish influence but was definitly disney and someone said they thought theyd heard it in a parade. very old though i think. then after that the 2 casting directors took our cards and in lines of 10 we had to perform the dance one time. From each 50 they called out some numbers who stood in a line then 2 casting directors (one man one woman) went down the line, asked them to smile and I think they wrote down on the card what character they could play or just made notes on the person. Then after that about 4 people from the line was chosen for the next round. Everyone else was cut. I think out of 300 people.. about 30 made it through that cut, but they were mainly looking for princesses and princes.
Unfortunatly I didnt make it through... just as the man looked at me I messed up abit of the dance and I think that immediatly ended it for me very mad with myself but these things happen.. got to get used to the nerves and pressure !
its ok though im really glad I went and next time will be alot more confident and know more about how to look, what to expect etc. It is not the end for me.. I won't stop til i get in because I know I can do this !

so yes hope thats abit more info about what the first round entails ! If anyone has questions feel free to ask me ill try answer if I can. Im sorry that i dont know what happens in the next rounds and im not even sure how much im allowed to tell people about.. but hey ho. ill find out with experience im sure

I went to the audition on Thursday too! I made it through to the final 30

What happened in the next round was that out height was measured, we filled in some more paper work, had a photo taken, and they fitted a few people (only about 8 people) with wigs and makeup. They then gave us cards confirming that we were on their waiting list for 6 months, and that when they need someone of our height & abilities then they'll be in touch. So although I was thrilled to have made it to the final stage, I'm realistic that they still might not find a use for me in the next 6 months. If they don't, I'll definitely audition again, it was a great experience!

Only 3 people got offered contracts there and then, one girl I was queuing with is to be Princess Tiana!

Yes that was her! I was so pleased for her, as we queued together outside in the freezing cold for 2 hours!! she's a really nice girl.

Definitely go for it again Natalie! I'm going to do it again if I'm not called back!

Ahhh fab im so pleased for her really weird feeling when I was sat there at beginning thinking some people out of this room are actually gonna work in disney land paris.. hahaaa bit surreal ! :L
Can you remember the song that we had to dance to Luke? I can just about sing the tune but don't know what song it is and i would like to!

@Natalie, I have no idea what the song was, but I've been trying to find it on YouTube all week! I don't even know if it was a parade song at DLP or another park. The words had something to do with a carnival I think?!

you two are so cool talking about michael page Luke did you get thru the first round at the same time as the girl who is playing Tiana? I remember her and a boy walking to the right hand side after getting through..
I feel so excited for the next audition that I can attend

Yes! I was 151, and she was 152 so we queued and danced together!

God sorry im blind lol. Theres another audition for the same roles at pineapple studioes in a few weeks. I'm gunna go to that. I went to a seminare at Move it on the Fri with the casting director, learnt loads. u did well to get through to the next bit if only 30 got chosen. i was number 400 and somthing, think there was abut 500 there x

Hi,

I just got a reply by e-mail to my application to work as a character. I didn't realise that the contracts were 6months and I'm a student so 3months is my max. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could get hold of Daniel Harding, or knew anything about the CDD contracts and how to apply for a job on those?

Any information would be great thanks, because I REALLY want to work at Disneyland Paris this summer!

Hey guys, I had a few questions about working for dlrp!!

First of all, do you get to choose what characters you want to be or do they pick for you??
Second, If you do become a character, what do you learn?? (ie signatures etc)
lastly, what is the height restiction on costumed characters for boys as I'm 1m72???
