Ride Capacity/Family of 5

Postby bashford5 » Sun Jul 25, 2010 10:16 pm

Hello all, I've found this forum so great for gathering information for my upcoming trip and I've got a question that I hope you can help with. I've noticed that a lot of the rides suit even numbers of riders. If a ride allows four, there's no problem with my husband or I taking two children while the other takes one. However, we aren't sure what to do for rides that only allow for two (ie Dumbo, Buzz). Our oldest child is four and our twins will be almost three when we travel. I'm hoping there's some sort of 'parent share' where the parent could ride twice and the children would swap out (like a baby/child swap in reverse). Has anyone dealt with this or have any suggestion for us?

many thanks,

Hi,

We went last september as a family of 5. There are alot of rides that you will be able too go together.
Alot of them you can have 3.
In DLP you have Buzz Light Year, Peter Pans Flight, Its a small world, pinocchio to name but a few.
I have read that there is a parent switch on some of the bigger rides but cant say for sure.
This year we are going to attempt a family of 6 so will see how that goes.

Thanks for your reply, its nice to know that its worked out fine for you in the past. Could you tell me how you managed Dumbo? Have fun on your first trip as a family of 6! :)

If I remember correctly it is possible to fit 1 adult and 2 children in an elephant, though I could be wrong. I certainly rememeber one of the dumbos having wider seating though I cant remember which of the parks it was since Ive been to 3 :?

Many thanks, PetiteSirene! I couln't remember if it was the MK or DLRP that had wider seats and the website said the elephants only seated 2 so have been fretting-silly thing I know. Enjoy planning your trip w/your little girl. Once we've been I'll be sure to post anything my 2 years olds really enjoyed. :D

As I said not 100% sure but I remember my brother and his fiance wanting to ride in one with their little one. I know for sure I have seen a similiar ride in another park with the wider seats. When are you going? I'll be heading parkwards in just over a month and can have a look for you :).
And thankyou! I really cant wait to take her next year, I am expecting IASW to be a very big hit ;)

I was there on my own with a 3 and a 5 year old and we got on everything together.. except Dumbo (was closed fo refurb) and Orbitron (5yr old too scared, 3 yr old wanted to go however!)
So basically, 3 can get on Phantom Manor, Pirates, Peter Pan, Teacups, Buzz, Autopia (3 in one car!), Small World, Snow White, Pinocchio, Carousel (obv!), Magic Carpets (I sat behind them) and Cars Rallye (I sat behind them).
